LaSalle Park

Bismillahir-Rahmanir-Rahim

Every waterfront has its own terrain and view of the lake. LaSalle Park is one of the nicest parks I've visited yet in Burlington. Its atmosphere evokes a calm peaceful feeling. It has a bit of everything - a marina, trails, a forest, a calmer side of the lake, and many friendly animals.

Fluttering birds chirping their songs,
cygnets raised by elegant swans,
chipmunks scurrying to and fro,
and waddling ducks quacking hello.

The weather was beautiful. Various rays of sunlight penetrated the forest and shone through its translucent leaves, setting parts of this mysterious world aglow. Protected by its high canopy, we experienced light refreshing intermittent rains that produced rhythmic sounds of water droplets gently hitting leaves all around us.

Down a slope in the distance, I thought I saw a small field of grass within the forest. I ventured off the trail to take a closer look at this would-be oasis. As I approached it, a still patch of green water appeared. its colour most likely due to chlorophyll-containing algae. Subhanallah, the scene was beautifully-strange and otherworldly...

  • I love this blog – the writing, especially the poem, the videos and the pictures. This is a beautiful park and it brings back fond memories from my childhood. The fourth picture is breathtaking! The lushness of the greenery and the grandness of the trees is awe inspiring. The cute ducks waddling towards you in the video is absolutely adorable. Mashallah!
