Jack Darling Memorial Park and Rattray Marsh Conservation Area

Bismillahir-Rahmanir-Rahim

Al-Hamdulillah I recently visited Jack Darling Memorial Park and Rattray Marsh Conservation Area in Mississauga.

The temperature was just slightly cool and the Autumn leaves were colorful. This is a special place where you can experience both a lakeshore and a marsh trail. It was the perfect day and setting in which to walk and reflect on this blessed month of Rabi` ul Awwal, the month of the blessed birth of Sayyidina Muhammad (may Allah bless him and grant him peace).

I enjoyed the walk along the shoreline which was lined with seashells and wonderful views of the water. This led me to the heart of this place which is the marsh trail, which contained my most treasured moment of this particular trip: getting to observe a Heron up close. Allah the Most High has ennobled various creatures in different ways, and I cannot help but admire the specialized feathers on the Heron's chest. SubhanAllah wal-Hamdu Lillah...
