This project brought together a few people to share photos from their health and wellness efforts for a week, and to answer: "What's currently at the forefront of your mind with regards to your health and wellness journey?" Thank you to everyone for your contributions. Through coming together, we inspire each other and gain broader and deeper understandings.
"Lately, the big lesson for me has been realizing how much I need simple, quiet moments. I'm learning that wellness doesn't always come from doing something intense or structured. Sometimes it's just sitting down with a warm cup of tea and letting myself dive into something that interests me. It slows me down in a good way. I'm starting to see that these small pauses are actually what keep me grounded, especially when life gets busy. It's a reminder that taking care of myself can be as simple as giving myself a few peaceful minutes to breathe and reset."
For me, reading about nature or researching trees feels calming.
Lately, I've been diving into how daily lifestyle choices influence the body's internal systems - from sodium and sugar intake to sleep quality and hormonal balance. While we often hear general advice about what's "good" or "bad", understanding the biological why behind it has become a powerful motivator for me to make more informed decisions about my health and wellness.
This is a Vegetable Curry I made with Cauliflower, Eggplant, Chickpeas, Carrots, Potatoes, and Peas.
This is a healthy meal I made with Baked Salmon, Lettuce, Orange Bell Pepper, Blue Berries, Avocado, and Tomato.
This is a healthy breakfast I made with Oats, Blue Berries, Banana, Dates, Raisins, Natural Peanut Butter, Raw Honey, and Cinnamon.
This is my work-out area which is very convenient to have at home. Looking at this photo I realise that I need a calming or inspiring picture on the wall.
This is a healthy drink I made with my juicer containing golden beat, blood orange, carrots, and ginger.
Checking my blood pressure at home.
Burning bukhoor (a type of incense) and sitting down to do some breathwork.
A nice soothing cup of masala chai to relax.
"These days I'm seeing that balance is everything. Just listening to my body before it gotta shout. Training smart instead of doing the most. Keeping stress low and my pace steady. It has me feeling way more centered."

"The biggest wellness lesson for me recently comes from the time I spent caring for my dad. It taught me the importance of slowing down, being present, and taking care of myself while caring for someone I love. The experience reminded me that wellness is emotional and spiritual too; it's about patience, gratitude, and focusing on what truly matters."
This is the children's book I created in honour of my dad. Working on it became a form of healing for me, a way to remember him with love, reflect on the lessons he taught me, and turn grief into something meaningful. It reminded me how wellness can come from creativity, gratitude, and keeping the memories of the people we love alive.
A quiet moment in nature. Even on grey days, walking among the trees helps me slow down, breathe deeply, and clear my mind. There's a calmness in stillness that reminds me to ground myself.
A night out bowling with friends - a reminder that wellness also comes from laughter, connection, and being around people who lift your spirit. Sometimes joy is its own form of self-care.
"No one day is perfect, don't wait for motivation to do something, do it anyways. Of course that's easier said then done, but that's the key. Sometimes performing the action itself will snap you into being motivated."
The gym: pushing myself when seeing something as intimidating as a bench press that feels like an anvil on life. Mentally & physically, it inspires me to lift the load off my mind. Sometimes I can and sometimes I fall short, but I always TRY.
Annual Step Counter β get better each year, even if it's a little.
Weekly Step Counter β take full advantage of a good day and fully enjoy it.
My ride on the train is a journey to transition from my home life to work life and it takes a physical effort and a metaphorical one to arrive at a destination.
A nice view is something I want to keep in my life - to look outside and be thankful to God for uplifting me. Everything is from Him.
"Art is always a means of finding some pause, some form of healing in moments of melancholy. Poetry, in its short form, can perfectly distill a moment, a thought, a feeling that one needs to hear at any given time."
"This poem ("Lamium" by Louise Gluck), came back into my mind recently after a troubled moment. Even as it adopts the voice of a plant, it speaks to something fundamentally human about our need to create our own work, value, purpose and worth (to "make our own light") free of external demands, or our lives in the outside world. To find ways of living a rich inner life is a blessing, and its own form of medication for the heart."
These days, my goal is to cut down on sweets (added sugar intake).
Green Tea, which I drink at least once a week.
A 30-minute outdoor walk.
Making "Baingan Ka Salan" with Eggplant, Cilantro, Olive Oil, Tumeric, Salt, Ginger Garlic Paste, and Tomato Paste
Baingan Ka Salan - a flavorful, tangy, and spicy dish made with eggplant
White-Tea-Scented Candle
"My goal these days is to maintain muscle and increase strength."
Here is my attempt at a healthy Caesar salad. I roasted chick peas with garlic powder and paprika to use in place of croutons and bought a low calorie, organic Caesar dressing. It was pretty good and simple to make. I will be adding this to my rotation.

What an excercises Brother Irshad, thank you for getting us all together to do this collectively as a group. It was so inspiring to get ideas from everyone here on what works for them & I realized I subconsciously do somethings mentioned here. I hope to now consciously incorporate these practices in my personal life. Thank you to everyone to sharing some of their lives, together, bouncing ideas off of one another we can enhance our journey & find similarities to move together. Continued success to you all!
This is truly one of the best activities and an excellent idea. We benefit immensely from our own life experiences and those of others. I genuinely hope we continue to engage in positive practices, as the world currently needs the energy of love, warmth, tranquility, and healthy relationships.
Thank you Irshaad for giving me the opportunity to express my health and wellness choices.
I enjoyed viewing the others experiences which has given me more ideas. I didnβt realize how varied the views for health and wellness are. I just thought it was drinking a power shake and working out. I wish you continued success. Thank you
What a beautiful collection of reflections. Itβs an excellent reminder that wellness isnβt just one routine. Itβs unique and individual to each person here. I appreciate how living well can look different depending on where we are in life and what we each need. Whether itβs a calming walk, a nourishing meal, a few minutes breathing with tea, all of it can matter. Thank you to everyone who shared. This is a good reminder to pause, reflect, and hold space for physical and emotional and spiritual health.
This was a beautiful collection to read. Each personβs reflection came from a sincere place, and it was inspiring to see how different paths can lead toward the same goal of wellness and grounding.
Thank you to everyone for sharing a part of your lives in this collaboration. Reading through the entries was inspiring. Itβs a powerful reminder that health and wellness isnβt a single path, but a mosaic of our unique experiences β shaped by our daily choices, various cultures, and our willingness to both find comfort in routine and courage to try something new. I was moved by the blend of upbeat motivation and personal reflection in your words. Iβve taken notes on your ideas and am excited to weave some of this wisdom into my own journey. Wishing you all continued success!
