Bismillah ar-Rahman ar-Rahim
An Honoured Guest
On a still night I left my nest
My long shirt clean and neatly pressed
At a house of worship, I arrived
A hearth amidst the world's unrest
* * *
I entered feeling greatly blessed
Provided for upon my quest
I discreetly took my place in line
And listened to His praise professed
* * *
I stayed and put forth my request
For those I love and those oppressed
And returned to the dark cloak of night
Honoured at having been His guest

Mashallah Brother Irshad! Amidst the noise of this world it’s great to have get away with the Al mighty Allah swt with full devotion, care, love, and undivided attention. We truly are just guests in this world and when called to the masjid it truly is an invitation from him, I firmly believe we’re never there by chance or our own will. We honour the host for being his guest while presenting ourselves to him properly inwardly and outwardly as you mentioned.

Love it, thank you for sharing. :)

As the poem starts you can feel the sense of purpose. He’s on a mission to get to the mosque. Once there you can feel his gratitude and love. There’s a feeling of safety in being there. He considers it a blessing to be able to offer his duas.
