Full Lunar Eclipse March 2025
The March 2025 Full Lunar Eclipse
A Full Lunar Eclipse occurred on March 13, 2025. Glorified is Allah the Exalted! It was a surreal, ominous yet beautiful sight. For a time, the Earth is in between the Sun and the Moon, and as the Moon passes into the Earth’s shadow, it gradually becomes darkened and then becomes red in color.

One of my first major astronomy experiences was witnessing a full lunar eclipse. At that time, I only had a pair of binoculars, and I always hoped that one day I would be able to properly photograph this celestial event. While waiting for a couple of years for the opportunity, I was able to photograph a partial lunar eclipse.
Recently, with binoculars, a telescope, and camera, I got to experience another full lunar eclipse. The totality phase started around 3 am. It was a clear and calm night. I took the above photo through a telescope, and the various phases with a camera.
Of all the celestial objects I’ve witnessed as an amateur astronomer, the full lunar eclipse holds a special value. It looks surreal, you do not need to view it through a telescope, and its totality phase lasts for quite some time.
Even more special than photographing this event, I had the opportunity of praying Salatu'l Kusuf (The Eclipse Prayer) during the blessed month of Ramadan, in which through God's generosity, (the merit of) good deeds are multiplied. Al-Hamdu Lillah.
This brings to mind a marble like we played with as kids. The texture looks so smooth and the colour is gorgeous. I love it!
I have to say, the moon looks romantic! It reminds me of the first blush of love….
Great shot! The colour and details are very pleasing to the eye. One of your best ones yet.
So beautiful!!!👏👏👏
Beautiful. 🤲🏽
